Different uses of a new language

You can talk to people who only know this language

Sometimes the best thing about learning a new language is being able to use it in real time situations. These could include stuff such as people who only speak french being lost, and no one knows how to let him know where to go because they don't understand them. If you know this language, you can be that hidden hero and help him find the place where he needs to go, or what bus line to take to get there.

You can understand people who say stuff in other languages around you

Sometimes people say stuff to their buddies in a different language so that the person in front of them cannot understand them, and so they cannot figure out what you said to the other person. You can now be that one guy who can figure out what their saying, and call them out on it if they say something bad. This is very funny to see their reactions as most people wont expect you to know the language and be set back when you call them out on it.

Its just generally impressive

Knowing another language is always very fun as others will be set back when you do speak clearly in that language. Even if its very choppy, people will just think that its very good and compliment you on it.
